After much discussion, long nights of searching, looking at reviews, and great advice from TALF, I have booked the Travelodge London Southwark. I have chosen this hotel based on pretty good reviews, close to a lot of attractions, and a great price. So glad the hotel hunt is over...now on to the fun part of planning our days! Also, we will be arriving at 6:50am from Houston on March 9th, and will be in London for 5 nights.
From what I have gathered reading/searching other forum topics, I believe this is the easiest way to get here from LHR (and sorry I can't remember who wrote this):
Tube to Hammersmith, walk a few feet to the adjacent platform, then District Line Tube to Westminster, use the elevators to change to the Jubilee Line and take it to Southwark.
Is this correct? What should we purchase for our transit to Southwark? We will be taking advantage of the 2-4-1 offers so is the Waterloo Station the closest place to pick up our paper Travelcards? And I am assuming it is best for us to get the 7 days travelcards since we are here for 6 days.
I am also wanting to take a day trip to Windsor Castle-Stonehenge-Bath. I know these trips are long and you do not have much time at each place, but I think just being able to see each location for a short time will be worth it. Any recommendations of who/where to book for this trip?
I was told to re-ask once I knew where we were staying soo what are some great pubs in the area? We are up for walking around and enjoying the South Bank area.
Any other advice or things I need to know is welcome, thank you everyone!
