Opera at the Royal Opera House

We wish to attend the Opera in London. Can someone tell me when tickets go on sale for the Aida at the end of April?

Also, any recommendations for where the best seats are for the Opera would be very much appreciated.

Aida runs from March 11 to April 15. Tickets go on sale to the general public on February 1. See www.roh.org.uk/whatson/production.aspx…

The best 'value for money' seats tend to get booked up by Friends of ROH who have priority booking. Centre Stalls seats or Stalls Circle are probably the best but also very expensive. If you don't want to pay £150+ per ticket then look at centre Balcony or Amphitheatre seats. Cheapest ones are the standing tickets but the view is very limited.

There's still loads of availability for the performances later in the run, so you shouldn't have any difficulty at all in getting tickets. Be warned though that this production got pretty grim reviews on its first outing and in April it will feature the "second cast" (ie, no Robero Alagna!). However an evening at Covent Garden is always an occasion, and not necessarily too expensive if you sit in the Amphi. although you will be a long way from the action. As has already been said, the best value seats will have been snapped up by the Friends and the very best seats will set you back about £200 each.

Enjoy your trip.
