Dinner near the Opera House

Could you recommend a nice place to have dinner near the Opera House, for before the Opera?

Doesnt need to be fancy, or too expensive. Just looking for a nice meal within a 10 minute walk to the Opera House.

Thanks for all your help.

What sort of cuisine are you looking for? There are loads of places near the Opera House. An expensive (but very enjoyable) option could be at the ROH itself, the first time we went we had dinner at the Crush Room, with the different courses during the intervals. It was fun.

As afds says, lots of places nearby ranging from Pizza Express to Porters to Chez Gerard to Rules, with almost everything in between. I'm sure you'll get more suggestions if you can be more specific about what you want in the way of food, atmosphere, budget.

Covent Garden has hundreds of good places to eat within 10 minutes. Try Sofra.

I recommend Rules in Maiden Lane. Traditional and historic restaurant serving old English food. Or Simpsons in the Strand.

32 Great Queen Street is one of my favourite restaurants, also Cote in Tavistock St is great value.
