Spitalfields Market and The Sunday Up Market in Brick Lane are both near Liverpool Street station. You'd like them, I reckon

Spitalfields Market is open on Saturday and Sunday although Sunday is the better day as it is the full market.

You might find this opinionated listing helpful and interesting:

If you go to Spitalfields (one of my favorites), go on the Sunday. The stores around the market are open on the Saturday, but the traders' stalls don't operate on Saturday.

Spitalfields has lots of local chain restaurants around it, some of which are pretty good, but the Sunday Upmarket has food stalls with food from a fantastic array of places, much of it delicious.

At the upper level there are picnic tables to eat the food from the stalls.

At the same upper level there is a stall called Harmonise where Jules gives the best back massage ever (in a special chair, fully clothed) which brings me to the market every Sunday.

Both Spitalfields and the Sunday UpMarket sell a very wide variety things: eel skin purses, lampshades that fold flat, hats, scarves, vintage clothes, customised clothing, to the first steps of new local designers.

The shops around the markets are open also. Have a look at the outsides of both sides of Spitalfields and the shops on Hanbury Street next to the UpMarket.
