Hey, Hey Sports Fans ...............

Will be be in London May 9th through the 12th and one of us is a real big sports fanatic. One of us really loves their sports- there will only be the two of us and I could not care less so it must be the other one. Okay that is my attempt at levity. To those with a like appreciation are there any games, events. or venues that a couple of rednecks should see while in the city? Thanks for the suggestions.

It looks like YOU could be in luck! :)

There is only one football (soccer) game scheduled: Fulham vs Liverpool on 9th, and my guess is that will be a sell out. If you feel you have to check for tickets, visit their website.

I checked cricket, and there are no matches involving the "London" teams, Surrey or Middlesex. So unless someone can find a golf tournament, rugby or tiddly winks, you may be in luck. :)

If the person who lives, breathes and eats sport would like to visit a football ground, there are tours available for Emirates Stadium, White Hart Lane and Craven Cottage, which the website claims as one of the most charismatic stadiums in the country.

Not to be single-minded, there are tours of Lord's and The Oval if cricket is of interest. The All England Lawn Tennis Club offers tours as well if that appeals.

I'm not much of a tennis fan (although I get thoroughly distracted when watching Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal) but I've been to the AELTC to visit the shop as I've friends who are tennis-mad. It's got an interesting feel about it, very appealing to the point where I'd fancy taking a tour.

Twickenham, which is a wee bit out of the city houses the national Rugby stadium if I'm not mistaken but 'sadly' no games on during your stay. You can visit the museum&do tours though, see rfu.com/TwickenhamStadium/MuseumOfRugby/Visi…
