5th time in London - any recommendations?

I have visited all the major things in London. Looking for alternative London, not touristy London. I like music, cafe culture, interesting sights, interesting areas. Not too pricey. Will be staying near Big Ben. Will be nice to interact with people. We are a couple in our fifties. Rocmmendations???

Suggest Spitalfislds market on Sundays and walk around the surrounding areas, Brick Lane , Petticoat Lane etc . Lots of tourists but also locals.

Also Portobello market and surrounds on Saturdays.

I would head outside London then and do some day trips. Have you been to Windsor, Cambridge, Bath, Stratford - just a few suggestions for you! You may also want to see where some of the ex pats live, - Wimbledon is a great place to go and sit in a restaurant, and sample some Biltong......

If you haven't been, Borough Market, Thu-Sat is a must. Also the Foundling Museum, John Soane Museum, Chelsea Physic Garden, the Globe Theater tour or performance.

You might also investigate some of the very interesting London Walks on offer. There are so many. each on very specific subjects, you're sure to find one you like. Here's a link to Monday's walks, but they are different every day.

And I highly recommend Windsor.

We've been trying to do this for the past several trips and something has always come up that we don't make it. We are determined to do it this trip. You can attend a practice of the bell ringers at St. Mary Abbott's Church in Kensington on Thursday evenings. If you have any interest in music, it looks to be very interesting.

Thanks for the suggestions. I normally come on whistlestop trips as it relates to work. I will be in London for 4days Tuesday to Friday late June.

You can visit Kew Gardens and the Kew Palace if you have not done that on your other trips.
