vegan food around Canary Wharf?

My husband has a two week trip to Canary Wharf, he'll be working long hours and will probably not have the time or energy (or space) to cook. Are there any places in the area that are vegan or vegetarian? How are the grocery options? He might have a microwave and or frig, but I think that would be about it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Depending on where your husband is staying near Canary Wharf, his best option might be to do a bit of self catering. There are a number of cafes and sandwich bars in the office buildings and shopping area centred around the Wharf but vegan options are likely to be thin on the ground.

There is a rather manky and small Tesco at Canary Wharf DLR station, a good size Waitrose at Canada Square and an M&S Simply Food somewhere in the warren of shops between the DLR and Underground station.

But the best choice may depend on where Mr 117 will be staying; if he'll be working in another location away from the Wharf let us know that as well, please.

There's an "organic chickpea" kiosk opened up on the Wharf, here's a link with opening hours. I've noticed there's always a long queue at lunchtime, so very popular

Mr. 117 will be working at 5 Skylines Villages Limeharbour, not sure where he's staying yet.

Skylines Village is within walking distance to a very large Asda supermarket (Walmart)

Small detail in case Mr117 hasn't sorted his travel plans yet.

Limeharbour is near Canary Wharf, but it isn't part of the Canary Wharf complex. That matters if he needs to give instructions to a taxi driver, or plan a journey on public transport.

There is indeed a large Asda nearby, but it is not a nice place to spend any time. I personally witnessed a fight between customers in that store recently.

Suggest Mr117 takes himself into the Canary Wharf complex for supplies and sustenance, and avoid the general unpleasantness of that particular branch of Asda.

That Asda brings new meaning to the word naff, it really is dire. I popped in recently just to recce (wanted to give it a chance) and walked out very unimpressed.

The Waitrose at the Wharf is a much better option, but if Mr 117 will be living elsewhere there are other alternates too: another Waitrose near St Katharine Dock and a big Sainsbury's just off Whitechapel Road at Cambridge Heath Road.
