Full English Breakfast

Hi my girlfriend and I are having our friends over in a couple of days were we are going to plan our trip to London and Kings Lynn in April.

We tought it would be fun to dish up with a Full English Breakfast. Instead of a traditional Danish Lunch

Now we are just wundering what is a "Full" breakfast.

Please let me hear your favourites.

Any suggestion will be welcome.

In my view it must always include grilled bacon and sausages; either fried or scrambled eggs; and grilled large tomatoes and mushrooms. Sometimes sauteed potatoes are offered too. Some hotels will also have baked beans as an option - I wouldn't.

The finest of restaurants may also offer grilled kidneys or small lamb chops but these are unusual. In the north of England they usually add grilled black pudding.

Follow this with lots of fresh toast and jams and marmalade.

Enjoy.

Hi Onward, my man ~ the tomato/brown/fruity sauce was just exactly that. Don't know the real name but it was great slopped over the eggs and stuff. Gosh I'm hungry.

some like tomatoe sauce (red Ketchup), brown sauce would be like HP (or a thicker version, of A1, steak sauce, sort of thing,.....and the Fruity Sauce, mainly brought in shop's unlikely to get in resturant, is abit like brown sauce, but not as harsh, more sweet and fruity. (I like the Tesco's own fruity sauce....quite additive ;)

A few years ago HP had a fruity sauce out I enjoyed it. Wonder if they are still making it. When I was in Britain back in the 70's it was just tomatoe sauce they didn't use the word Ketchup. I giggled at your red Ketchup. Did you ever try the purple or green Ketchup that Heinz put out?
