Eating in Finsbury Park

Hi! I just wondered if anyone knew of a nice place to get a good breakfast in finsbury park? Am stayin there in november. The flats are on Holloway Road Islington if that helps. We're leaving in the afternoon of Monday 28th and I'd really like to go out somewhere for brekkie before heading home. Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated, Thanks ;D xx

Holloway Road is a fairly long road, so you need to be more specific.

I'm not really sure what you mean. Do you want to eat in the park itself, or in the area. I can't really understand why, as it is not one of the nicest areas of London.

Rather than travel from Holloway Road to Finsbury Park, I think I would be more inclined to either go to somewhere in Holloway Road or travel to Upper Street.

The general area may not be very nice, but the Park is. So the cafe in Finsbury Park is a very good idea.

In Finsbury Park itself Boulangeire Bon Martin is pretty good, more cafe than greasy spoon though

If that flats are where I think they are though you may be better getting the bus into Islington and trying either:

Bon Matin is excellent but well out of your way as is anywhere on or near Stroud Green Road like the Front Room and the cafe in Finsbury Park itself.

I'd stick with Holloway Rd or Upper St incl maison d'etre on the roundabout between the two:

I second LondonFlare's suggestion of The Breakfast Club. Well worth the trip into Angel Islington.

Thanks everyone!! Here's the address for the flats where I'm staying, they're on the site of the old Hornsey Road Baths apparently!! lol (6 Tiltman Place Hornsey Road)

All I want to know really is somewhere that serves breakfast that isn't a greasy spoon! I don't want eggs, beans, bacon and sausages, something a bit more upmarket!!!!

Thanks again

jump on a 91 bus which goes up Hornsey Road and go to the Belgique Restaurant in Crouch End ... I had egg florentine in there the other day and it was delicious

Not for breakfast. But a good convivial pub in that area, within a ten minute walk is The Faltering Fullback.

If walking is a priority I definitely recommend Boulangeire Bon Martin. Turn right out of the baths up Hornsey Road. Then turn right down Tollington Park and Bon Martin is about a 5-10min walk on the right hand side.

I can also recommend the Faltering Fullback as an excellent pub choice and for dinner there is Ajani which is on Hornsey Road b the junction with Tollington Park

They have a fantastic M-F special offer of two courses for £6.50!
