St.Albans City station is close to M1 and M25 and has 4 fast trains per hour direct to St.Pancras per hour as well as 4 slower trains.

Car park is 24 hours with CCTV cost £28 for a week.

High Barnet is at the end of the Northern Line. £4.50 per day. Direct underground trains to St.Pancras.

Cockfosters at the end of the Piccadilly Line is also £4.50 Also direct to St.Pancras.

Which way are you coming from?

If you go on www.tfl.org and search for car parks. It lists all the car parks by line and the cost. The problem with with some of the Underground Stations is paying for the carpark. If you don't have the coins to pay some of them can be difficult to pay for. And you would need a lot of coins.

Before driving down, have you looked at the train options?

With most UK operators, you can buy an add-on to 'London CIV' to go with your Eurostar ticket. This is generally cheaper than a separate ticket and also allows ou to use trains that are not normally available with off-peak tickets.

In addition, if your train is late arriving into London and you get the train company to endorse your ticket, Eurostar will put you on the next available departure for no extra charge.

Thanks all for prompt replies, we are coming down from Liverpool.

I have not booked Eurostar yet but looking at a package to Bruge, Eurostar is 07.00 to 11.59 out 1500 to 1900 back.

Not bothered about getting back but worried about connecting trains that early as west coast line can be unpredictable and I dont want to ruin trip, also trip will be next spring and you cant access cheap quotes on trainfares untill 13 weeks before, so trains a possibility but I like to plan and look at alternatives, we may stay one night in London night before but depends on costs as we want to come and see the leonardo exhibition but that ends in February so we need spends for that as well..

thanks for advice

Have you looked at departures from Ebbsfleet International instead? This is the Eurostar station by the M25/A2 intersection, with parking.

You could try looking on wwwparkatmyhouse.co.uk where you park on somebody's driveway for a lot less than paying to park in central London.

I don't think Underground station car parks have the facility for you to pay for more than that day. So you would have to find one that was free on Sundays.

As in my first meesage then St.Albans City must be a good choice as there is a 24 train service to and from St.Pancras 7 days a week, although there is sometime engineering works Saturday night to Sunday morning which could rsult in a replacement bus, but this is unusal, and only on Saturday night to Sunday morning.
