Question about gatwick travel lodge and premier inns.

We are a family of 5, need a nights sleep before takeoff. My question is rather than pay for 2 rooms surely we could all sneak into one room for the night. Kids are young and we can make do. It would be easy enough getting into the room would nt it? Thanks.

Several sorts of illegalities not the least being a serious breach of fire regulations. If you turfed up with 5 people for a 4 person room the hotel is within it's rights to cancel your booking

Why not ask about a family room instead, most Travelodges and Premier Inns do larger rooms for families. Of course you could try the sneaking about option but it would be hard to get past reception where you will need to sign and get the key/swipe card, and if you get found out you could lose your room for the night.

If you stay at the Travelodges at Gatwick you might well find that a family of 5 pays more for the hotel transfer bus than the room itself.

Its easy to look just at the hotel room costs but at airport hotels its often the bus transfers and food and drink that costs more.

We've had this problem in the past as we are a family of 5 and have always had to book 2 rooms in Travelodges or Premier Inns.4 peeps in one room seems to be full capacity at these hotels. You could try the Best Western Gatwick Moat hotel which have family rooms for 5/6 but looking at their prices, you'd prob be better off getting 2 rooms either in a TL or PI as would work out cheaper it appears.I wouldn't take a chance of sneaking an extra kiddy in and losing room for the night,as that would be a horrible start to your holiday. As Alanrow states,it all comes down to fire regs and health n safety these days.

We used to be a family of five, though they are all grown up now, and it does put the cat amongest the pigeons when booking hotel rooms and transfers - most cars do not take 5 persons so a more expensive minibus must be hired - but we did find that most hotels wouldn't mind putting an extra camp bed in a family room. You could always ask.
