Eurostar London to Paris, then TGV to Barcelona

I figured out it would be faster & cheaper to fly from Dublin to Barcelona, but then I like to travel on trains (German trains are my favorite so far, AMTRAK is my least favorite) and would like any & all input regarding the Eurostar to Paris, and the TGV from Paris to Barcelona. I am looking at the day train to Barcelona, not the overnight. This is for late September 2012.

Right now my plan is: fly from Dublin, overnight near St Pancras station, 0900 eurostar to Paris, 1400 train to Barcelona.

Has anyone done this recently (2012)? Any tips, recommendations, hints, advice? I did find seat61.com's page about doing this, but would like others input. Thank you in advance.

Its a pretty straightforward journey, only the cross Paris transfer poses any sort of issues.

Another option for a traveller is to take the ferry+train combo from Dublin to London. It is quite inexpensive and very pleasurable.
