Is there football/soccer during Nov.16th-Nov.30 anywhere?

Good day,

My husband has been a children's soccer coach here in the States for over 30 years, and I would love to surprise him by taking him to game where Manchester United is playing!!!!

Any input would be greatly appreciated, although I do know we may be off season.

Thank you,

Bondgirl

Well you are bang in the middle of the football season, so that is not a problem. Getting to see Manchester United of course is another matter, tickets are always hard to get hold of.

For your dates, Manchester United are away to Norwich on the 17th, at home (in Manchester, naturally) to Queens Park Rangers on the 24th, then West Ham on the evening of Wednesday 28th. If you are not a member then check availability of a Thomas Cook package (which includes hotel accomodation). this will not be cheap.

Your best chance of seeing a Premier League game in London will be Fulham vs Sunderland on Nov 18th.

November is peak season. Man U have 2 home games in that period, on the 24th and 28th, against West Ham and QPR.

Does it specifically have to be Man U, or would any Premier League game do?

Its not off season at all in November, the season starts mid August and finishes in May.

Fixtures here http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/fixtures (select english and premiership from the two drop downs)

They are still subject to change.

Note that getting tickets, unless you want to spend a couple hundred pounds for a hospitality ticket each, is not easy. You can buy hospitality tickets from Man U (see their website http://www.manutd.com/Splash-Page.aspx ) or from Thomas Cook who would typically package it up with a overnight hotel stay. Expect that to be £300 a person.

Or just look in the Manchester forum, you'll see lots of people asking this question.

Here is the Premier league fixture list premierleague.com/en-gb/…

During that period there is Norwich v Man Utd (in Norwich), Man Utd v QPR, or Man Utd v West Ham (both in Manchester).

You almost definitely won't be able to get a ticket for Norwich v. Man Utd as it is a small ground and will be sold out. No offence meant to West Ham or QPR, but neither are so-called 'glamour' teams, and therefore it might be easier to pick up tickets than for other teams. All games do tend to be full houses, though. Have a look through the official website http://www.manutd.com/Splash-Page.aspx - you will almost definitely be able to get a VIP package, but of course you will have to pay more for that.

I think Virgin Atlantic fly directly from Florida to Manchester, but that might only be in the summer. Otherwise there are direct flights from Atlanta, JFK and Newark.
