London Motor Museum

Hi,

I am a little confused about the motor museum in London. How many are there ?

I read that there is one at Hayes (http://www.londonmotormuseum.co.uk/).

And I also read from the forum that there is one at Beaulieu.

So are they the same or different ?

Thanks.

Beaulieu is not in London, is in the South England, in the New Forest; more info here: http://www.beaulieu.co.uk/

Just follow the directions on their web site

Hayes and Harlington has frequent trains from Paddington

Oyster or a zones 1-5 travelcard will get you there from anywhere in central London.

It is a very short walk from Hayes and Harlington station which you can reach by mainline train from Paddington. That is, if you really want to. I have lived in the area (about 6 miles away) for most of my life and I first heard of this place a couple of weeks ago. It certainly isn't famous and unless you have a particular reason for wanting to visit you may want to reconsider.

The place is not a museum, but it certainly is well worth visiting

If you are really into cars the motor museum at Beaulieu is fantastic. The most enormous collection of cars in a lovely setting - but it's about 2 hrs drive from London.

It you want to see some car history - go to the ground floor of the science museum.

You might be interested in the Brooklands museum too: http://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/

It takes only 40 minutes by train (from Waterloo station) then a short bus ride (nr. 436).

I'm going there next month so I can't say if it's good or not, but judging from the reviews, I would say that it's a place it is worth going: tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g190763-…

Beaulieu is home to the national motor museum which has over 250 vehicles. This yr they have a special exhibition to celebrate 50 yrs of james bond if you are a fan with 50 bond vehicles.
