London to Hammersmith

I will be in London for 2 weeks, staying at the Marriott Country Hall using points for 4 nights, then we need to use real money, lol!!! Our issue is that on 7 nights during our stay we will be taking the tube to Riverside Studios in Hammersmith to see our son perform, and aren't sure if we should stay in the same area as the Country Hall as it's central to sites and commute to the Studio, or if we should move to another area for the rest of the time. Any suggestions> BTW, our budget is to stay under $200 a night.

Thank you in advance!!!!

Hammersmith is a suburb of London; it's not a matter of 'London to Hammersmith' but SE1 to W6. London hotels don't post rates or charge per night in dollars (of any kind) but in ££; with the fluctuations in exchange rates your $200 may reflect a different sum today and in four months' time.

Have a look at accommodation in Earl's Court if you would like to move a bit further west than County Hall. www.ivylettings.com and www.aplacelikehome.co.uk may have flats that suit with good District line access to Hammersmith.

Hammersmith isn't a bad place to stay, some nice pubs on the river, and easy to get into town from Hammersmith tube station.

You might want to check out this B&B, which is just a few minutes walk to the Riverside Studios. http://www.templelodgeclub.com/

You're going to see your son perform on every single night? That's parental love in action :-) Perhaps you can play hooky for a couple of evenings to see something else in London.

US$200 is about UK£120 which should be OK depending on exactly when you will be doing this.

If you can get a good deal at County Hall, then it might be best to stay there.

Thank you so much!!!!

I will see him perform 7 nights out of the 13 I'm staying, the SAME play!!!! LOL, I may play hookie for sure!!!!

My budget is $200 US per night and in London that won't get me the Country Hall or of course I would stay there!!!

I want to sight see and go to Museums and hang out all over town which was why I thought staying local and taking the tube so TRAVELLER PLUS, is SE1 to W6 the bus or the Tube?

My dates for new hotel are Dec 3-Dec 10th.

Thank you again!!!!

County Hall comes in at £977 for the 7 nights so only a little above budget and the location is hard to beat but if you mind moving and can bear more purple then the PI Hammersmith comes in at £610 for the 7 nights whilst the nicer PI Kensington (Earls Court) works out at £867 for the same period.

SE1 and W6 are London postcodes, the equivalent to your zipcodes.
