visit in London prior to the cruise out of Dover

Hello. We are going on the cruise out of Dover in July and plan to visit London for 3 days prior to the cruise. Also first time in London plus travelling with two elderly. Which airport should we fly into to be close to the center of London but also easier to get to the cruise terminal? We are looking for rental property for 7 people. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I'm not an expert on transatlantic flights, but using skyscanner if you're wanting direct flights from Boston to London then it looks like you'll be arriving at Heathrow which is to the west of London about a 60 mins journey to the centre on the Underground.

How are you planning to transfer to Dover which is 75 miles south-east of London, and will your cruise also end in Dover? London-Dover Cruise Terminal options are well-summarised on the LondonToolKit website londontoolkit.com/travel/dover_london_transf…

If you are intending to make this transfer to Dover by train you might want to look for accommodation in the Bloomsbury area of central London for proximity to St Pancras station where there are direct links from Heathrow by Underground and to Dover by train. Bloomsbury is the area by the British Museum/Russell Square.

All direct and nonstop flights from BOS will make their way to London Heathrow airport. If for some reason you would prefer Gatwick you could fly with Air Transat or Canadian Affair from Montreal or with Virgin Atlantic from Orlando, but if it's to be a departure from Boston you'll fly to LHR.

Let us know the ages of the two 'elderly' in your party as the age one considers elderly will vary with the reader. Le us know as well if anyone has mobiilty issues such that they will not be able to climb stairs or wrangle at least one piece of luggage (whether hand or checked baggage).

Please let us know as well when in July you'll arrive, whether your cruise will depart from Dover on a weekday or at the weekend. If you are looking for a short stay flat for three days only, would you be content with booking two flats in the same building or area or must it be one large enough for seven?

Let us know your budget in £ for accommodation, please. Use www.xe.com for current exchange rates.

Both my parents are in their mid 80s with slow mobility so elevators and location close to the center of the city would be most helpful. One flat that can fit 7 would be fine. Cruise departure is on Saturday. Appreciate very much with your present and further recommendations.

That budget really would help us to help you but in the meantime you should contact a couple of agents bearing in mind that suitable central flats are thin on the ground and that you may have to stay a little bit further out. As long as you are on a bus route or close to a tube station then you will be fine bearing in mind that not all London sights and attractions are in the same area.
