Dad in London

Hi all,

At 76, my Dad no longer feels he can make his annual trip to the Chelsea show in one day. So he'll catch the train, and needs somewhere to stay.

A B&B for sixty quid or so would be ideal, as would being within walking range or a short taxi hop of the showground. He's fit and with-it, but obviously needs to be on safe ground. Night of Sunday 21st May.

Any bright ideas?

Thanks

David

I don't know anything in the area personally but this might help:

london-hotels.co.uk/hotels-chelsea-flower-sh…

You could look at the reviews for anywhere named.

Thanks Dancingmolly, I'll take a look.

Looking at TA, the Luna and Simone hotel looks a good bet, although I haven't contacted them yet.

Dave, check whatever hotel you are booking has a lift for him. Some have architecturally challenging stairs.

The Luna & SImone is an excellent budget choice but it doesn't have a lift and I am not sure they will guarantee a low floor room although I sure they will try.

Later in the week will be very busy but that Sunday might not be too bad. You could check www.laterooms.com where there are some reasonably priced hotels. Some of the hotels in and around Victoria are not the nicest though (and most of the older ones don't have lifts) so do read the reviews page of this site or ask again here before booking. It might just be worth paying a little bit more for something more modern.

Not atypically, having asked my advice he ignored it, and somehow talked himself into an exceptionally good deal at L'Hotel (Basil St) instead.

I'll try to post a review. Thanks everyone for the help.
