They put up Union Jack flag bunting at my bus-stop?!
If Rooney had not been injured, England would have been a good bet. But - with a question mark also surrounding Owen - England will find it more difficult to score goals. And Rooney is also such a cultured playmaker - in the Bobby Charlton mode - that his loss (or even impaired participation as a recovering-from-injury player ) is immense. I suspect that this will be Italy's year. How about a Brazil-Italy reprise of the 1970 final ?
Where's my Argentina flag??
My Italian husband also believes that the final will be Italy-Brazil, but I hope we will not have a reprise of 1970 or we will have a terrible trip! (Actually, when I asked him if Italy would win, he said there was no doubt, that of course they would.) We had to plan our vacation around the World Cup and will not be leaving for Europe until July 11. If Italy loses, we are in for a difficult 2 weeks!
Although the trendy pick would be Brazil, I'll take a flyer and say The Netherlands to win it. Having said that, I'll be in Nurnberg cheering on the U.S. against Ghana in between rounds of German pilsner and dopplebock.
Why Union Jack bunting? Is Great Britain playing? :-)
And why are all those auxiliary ambulance appearing? (I assume that what those cars and vans with red crosses flying from their windows are!)
I don't understand what all the fuss is about. It's ages away yet. However if Freddie and Collingwood can maintain their recent form, with Harmison and S Jones back to fitness and Pietersen playing a leading attacking role, we must be in with a chance. Now what's all this talk of Brasil and Italy?
I think it's like when you put your crimbo decorations up too early....you get sick of the sight of them in the end. I've seen so many already....it's kinda off put me off wanting to go and get a car flag and join them yet......maybe in a weeks time...but maybe it's cos I've still got my West Ham badge still in the back window ;)
What are "crimbo decorations"?
Christmas decorations........then when I say I've seen loads already, I mean the St. Georges flags, not the actual Christmas ones....just comparing them with being up so early.
