If you use the above site, enter "E14 4QS" as the postcode, which is for Canary Wharf tube station.

The first two look very familiar. I watched the 2008 Champions League final at a bar in that area with my brother and his coworkers, and the S&L (first one) may have been the place.

If that doesn't work, then there's a pub called Pepper Saint Onitod, which is a short walk from CrossHarbour DLR. When I was there around Christmas 2011 it was showing all Premier League matches so it probably would be showing Wednesday's game. It has a very interesting ambiance, with sofas. Call them and ask (and let them know how old your son is) - http://www.peppersaintontiod.com/

I did notice while scrolling down the matchpint site (with postcode E14 4QS) that #7 on that list is the Blind Beggar. It's frankly nowhere near Canary Wharf but it does have some "historical significance", if you're interested. :) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Blind_Beggar

I can't recall the Slug and Lettuce having TV screens. It's been a while since I popped in though.

City Pride used to be a great place to watch football in but it's been demolished for a tower block.

One place worth trying is the Cat and Canary on the way to West India Quay. Before the footbridge to go north to West India Quay, on the right is Corney and Barrow and then just around the corner is the Cat and Canary.

Paul

What do you mean £5plus for a pint of Peroni in a wet warm glass that the barmaid does not fill up and spills some when putting it down in front of you, go wash your mouth out this the legendary service offered in too many London pubs :(

To be fair there some absolutely brilliant ones too.

Rhammers

Is there any reason why you can't watch the game in the hotel bar

If not, I would get the receptionist to recommend a local pub - also to consider how old is your son, if he is young then some pubs have funny rules, if a teenager it shouldn't be (too much of) a problem

If anyone is looking for where to watch the 2013 Champions League Final between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund on Saturday 25th May, you can check out The Craft Beer Social Club's beer tasting party. Ticket includes two British welcome beers (inspired by the teams in the final); snacks and the screening of the match in an private TV room. Lots of beer and footy enthusiasts! Can book at championsleaguebeertasting.eventbrite.com or go to http://www.thecraftbeersocialclub.co.uk
