St Pancras to Belgrave Rd with minimum stairs?

Hi everyone on TALF,

I'm hoping someone can can suggest the easiest way [by pubic transport] to travel from St Pancras to the Sidney Hotel, Belgrave Rd, Victoria, with luggage.

I can manage a few stairs with the suitcase but would struggle with a flight of stairs.

I arrive on the Eurostar from Paris on Saturday, 18th May at 16:39.

Thanks Jen.

Taxi. Cost about £13 according to worldtaximeter.com

Follow the signs and take one from the official taxi rank, don't go with someone who approaches you or it won't be a licensed taxi.

It will be a bit more than £13 at that time on a Saturday (weekend rate) but will save you a lot of bother.

There is the 73 bus between Kings Cross and Victoria train station and that may be low floor and around £2-£3 return but the journey might take a while as it does go via Oxford Street.

The 73 isn't a bad choice at all, but it's still a bit of a walk to the hotel.

You may take a bus to Belgrave Road, with a stop within metres of the hotel. Start with the 10, 73 or 390 from stop A here: tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/…kingscross.pdf but don't get too comfortable.

At stop N in Gower Street, change to the number 24 towards Pimlico: tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/maps/buses/pdf/uni-… Alight at stop S, Belgrave Road: tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/…victoria-120113.pdf

Cash single fare on buses is £2.40, but you'll pay just £1.40 using PAYG on Oyster. If you use a Travelcard, bus journeys in all six zones are included in the cost of the card.

Stop S on Belgrave Road (for the number 24 bus) is right next to your hotel, though it's on the Vauxhall Bridge Road spider map - tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/maps/buses/pdf/vaux…

But, if you can manage escalators, I'd probably take the Victoria line tube to Pimlico. It's not 100% step free, but there are only 9 steps from the ticket hall at Pimlico to the ramp exits (I'd use Bessborough Street north), and then a 5 minute walk to the hotel. Fare would be £2 on Oyster.

Thank you everyone, for your great suggestions, links and pricing.

At the moment it is a toss up between the bus and the tube, perhaps with a leaning towards the bus, as the more scenic option.

Knowing the approximate cost of a taxi is great, as I might opt for the taxi if the weather is foul. Do they charge extra for luggage or do I increase the tip to cover it?

Thank you again for all the help.

" do I increase the tip to cover it?"

You don't HAVE to tip.

No extra charges for taxis, as said you don't have to tip.
