Time of day / day of week for your arrival? It can affect the advice.

Ordinarily, Piccadilly Line Underground to Green Park, up the escalator towards the ticket hall and exit, then down to the Jubilee Line towards Stratford to London Bridge. Novotel is a 2 minute walk from there. As rcspiers points out, this could depend on time of day, day of the week etc as there could be engineering works going on

20 and 21 July have no Jubilee line service from West Hampstead to Stanmore, but that won't affect your journey; the other weekends from mid July have no planned works on the Piccadilly line.

The journey is as easy as dicanio described above. Don't follow the directions in the station, as they involve a long hike plus stairs; the escalator route is much quicker. There are escalators up from the Jubilee line platforms to the ticket hall and street level at London Bridge as well. On the way from the airport, 23 minutes of the Piccadilly line ride will be at or above ground, something interesting to keep your small person occupied.

The hotel is no more than a five or six minute walk from London Bridge station, west along Southwark Street to Southwark Bridge Road. Your little'un might like a bus ride or two as well during your stay: tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/…london-bridge.pdf
