Show tickets for wedding gift -need help please

My son and his fiance are taking their honeymoon in London the second week in July. We would like to purchase tickets for a show (play or musical) as a gift for them. Where is the best place to purchase online? Any other advise about this? We want to present the tickets as a gift after the wedding. Thank you so very much for any ideas.

The best thing to do is to decide what you would like to send them to, and check with that theatre's official supplier. What are their tastes? Will they like something traditional or contemporary? Are they regular theatre goers.

For a romantic venue the Open Air Theatre in Regent's Park is unbeatable.

( the huddling together for warmth is the romantic bit).

(Note: you may need to get these delivered to their hotel)

Or if there's something specific you think they'd like to see many theatres have a gift token option for seats e.g.

Yes, just to reiterate, the best place to buy the tickets from is direct from the theatre or, for theatres that form part of a group (e.g. Ambassador, Delfont Mackintosh, Nimax, etc) from the box office of that group. I've never had to do it myself, but they will presumably, given enough time, and for a fee, be able to post the tickets anywhere in the world. Failing that, you may be able to print the tickets yourself. The other option would be to have the tickets held at the box office and to present them with something else, e.g. a card with a portrait of Shakespeare, Chekhov, or whoever, with a message to say that that is what you have got them tickets for. Just one practical question: have you checked that they haven't already booked anything, and, if so, for what nights they have bookings?
