Thames River cruise, or water taxi

We are trying to make plans and grouping things together. We are staying out a little at the Hilton London Olympia. Planning to take a bus to St. Paul's, then walk to Borough Market and have lunch. Enjoy a walk over Tower Bridge to tour Tower of London. Any way for us to go on river towards our hotel and easily get bus or tube to finish the journey? Either a river tour or river taxi? Is this too late in the day? We will be going on a Thursday, mid September.
