evacuation at the British Museum

I'm in London now and I'll post a proper trip report later, but I had an unusual vacation experience today. Just as I was finishing lunch, an alarm sounded. First staff said they had been having false alarms, but soon an evacuation was started. I was impressed by how well things were handled. It was very calm and staff didn't feel the need to shout at people.

I knew of an artshop nearby that I wanted to visit so I headed there. I'm on my way back to the museum now since it has reopened.

I can check that off the life experiences list.

Is there nothing the Greeks won't stoop to to get their Marbles back?

Same thing happened today. We don't know the reason, and to be truthful, while it was a well organised evacuation, we didn't want to hang around and find out what the problem was. We went to the V & A instead. Nothing reported here after 6 hours, so probably a false alarm.
