how to get from Heathrow to Westbury Hotel, London

We are staying at Westbury Hotel, London (Earls Court) beginning of August.

If anybody would have any input on how to get from Heathrow to this hotel by public transportation, it would be greatly appreciated.

We will then need to get to Dover. Is it possible to get there by public transportation or we need to reserve a shuttle?

thanks in advance,

anna

At what time of day and on what day of the week will your flight arrive at Heathrow? Equally important, when (specifically) do you need to travel from London to Dover? If, presumably, you're travelling for a cruise, let us know if you'll travel with a great deal of luggage or a manageable amount.

Trains from London St Pancras to Dover Priory will be considerably faster than the slow road journey, but let us know more about when you plan to travel. As well, let us know if you'll travel with one other person or with several family members.

There are no planned works on the Underground in early August that will have an impact on the journey from LHR to Earl's Court station, but time of day you plan to travel will be important.

From any of the three Underground stations at LHR board a Piccadilly line train towards central London. Alight at Earl's Court and take the lift up to the Earl's Court Road way out; there is a small ramp to the left after passing through the barriers or seven shallow steps up to street level.

Leave the station, cross the road and turn right. Turn left amost immediately at Earl's Court Gardens. Walk along that road to the T junction where you'll see the Premier Inn on the left. Make a slight jog to the right for Collingham Place then turn left there. The Westbury Kensington is just a few steps along, on the right. The walk from Earl's Court station to the hotel should take no more than five minutes.

Depending on the time of day you plan to travel to Dover - it *is* important, that's why I asked - you may be eligible for a GroupSave fare from London St Pancras to Dover Priory station. Off Peak GroupSave for three will cost £73.80 single, but Anytime fare (travel before 0915) will cost £119.70.

Return fares will be considerably cheaper than two singles, so if you plan to travel back from Dover to London buy returns. You need not book in advance, just buy on the day. www.southeasternrrailway.co.uk for more information.

To reach St Pancras, take the Piccadilly line from Earl's Court to King's Cross. There is an escalator up to the ticket hall, a short walk through a subway to stairs or a lift up to the mainline rail concourse at St Pancras. The domestic ticket office and platforms are at the far end of that station, past the shops, past Eurostar departures and arrivals. There are escalators and lifts up from the concourse to the platforms for the platforms for the trains to Dover.
