Ranch dressing?

When we were visiting from the US earlier in July, my niece was going nuts trying to find even one place that served Ranch Dressing. It was amusing to listen to her ask every waiter we had if the restaurant had some. None did. Apparently, she likes to drench her fries in the stuff when she's at home. I'm curious, though. Has Ranch Dressing ever been available in the UK?

I think I've seen 'ranch style' dressing before but if it was anything like the vile guacamole style dip I had in America that contained no avocado I would stay well clear!!!

As a random aside, years ago I read about someone having dressing with their Thanksgiving dinner. Thought it was weird if there was no salad but it was set in the land where syrup is poured on sausages so I just figured out was just the done thing. Only discovered last year that Turkey dressing is not dressing but stuffing.

Of in doubt with a quirky food just take some with you. I have a friend who carries ketchup and hot sauce (proper hot not tobasco) to use with every meal.

Each to their own!

If you view Maryann's profile she clearly states she wants "all the comforts of home" when she travels.

Not sure what the point of travel is then...
