Theater Pubs

Hi, my husband and I are thinking about seeing a theater pub show, but with there being so many, wanted suggestions on a recommended show. We were thinking Monday, September 30th somewhere close either walking or by train to the Liverpool Street Station. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I've never heard of them before but just googled it and was surprised to find that they do exist!

The ones I've heard of are in Islington, which is best reached by bus from Liverpool Street (or tube via a short walk to Moorgate). I've never been to them so can't comment on quality or the shows that are on at the moment.

Two very good and very old ones in Islington (both not far from the Angel) are the Kings Head:

The nearest one of this type I know is the Theatre Royal Stratford, very easy to get to from Livepool St --see http://www.stratfordeast.com/whats-on

It's "alive" that day.

The King's Head Pub is performing 'Two Caravans' on September 30.

It's situated at 115 Upper Street, Islington. www.kingsheadtheatre.com

From Liverpool Street Station catch the # 205 bus to Angel Islington. The theatre/pub is just around the corner.

Although the Theatre Royal Stratford has a good bar, the theatre is really too big for it to be considered a theatre pub, nor does it claim to be. In a theatre pub the theatre part is smaller than a conventional theatre and has a distinctive atmosphere.

Wow, very good information, thanks everyone! I'll check some of the ones out yall have mentioned. I found out about it browsing night time things to do, we can't afford to see a 'big' musical theater so I thought the smaller theaters would be interesting and fun!
