Its a fair old walk along the Thames path, but a pleasant one if youre feeling energetic.

we walked it, along the Thames path, maybe 30-40mins, but if no rush its an enjoyable stroll, with a some bars/cafe's en-route for stop-off, and great views of the city over the water.

for clarity we walked from the Tate Mod to the Eye, not from Paddington!

From Paddington to the Tate: Prob easiest might be the Bakerloo from Paddington to Embankment, change for the District/Circle line (eastbound) to Mansion House, then walk over the new Millenium Bridge to the Tate Modern. make sure your first puchase when you arrive is an A-Z!!

I just checked my A-Z, and actually it might be closer to get off at Blackfriars (District/Circle) for the Milennium Bridge. So you could walk across Blackfriars Bridge, so its either or!

Hi.

IMO the best way would be to get the Circle Line tube from Paddington to Westminster. It's then a short walk across the bridge, past the Aquarium and then to the Eye. From there, it's another short walk to the Tate Modern. You can then either walk back to Westminster, or get a boat back along the river.

If you want to go to the Tate Modern first, just get a boat from Westminster straight there, and then walk back to the Eye.

Check out the lovely river boat services at:

Hope this helps.

I agree that the "Best Way" would involve a boat

Indeed, you could walk from Westminster to Tate Modern, and then take the Tate boat back from Tate Modern directly to the London Eye, or take the Tate boat both ways.

Details and prices here: http://www.tate.org.uk/tatetotate/

(note that there's a discount if you have a Travelcard)
