New Premier Inn St Pancras @ 88 Euston?

Starting to plan our first trip overseas and our first stop is London. I was wondering if this new hotel opening up near the train station is a good central area in which to explore the sights. We are interested in the landmarks and will probably end our days in the west end at the theatre or dining.

The prices for the hotel are very good and being by the train station will be great for arriving and departing on to Amsterdam. Any opinions?

It's not a bad area at all. Kings Cross/St Pancras has great transport links to most of London and you're virtually in Bloomsbury there, too. Right near the British Library, a short walk from the British Museum and everywhere else is a short tube or bus ride away.

It's a very busy area - packed with noise and traffic and commuters - but not at all bad if you don't mind that kind of thing.

Premier Inns are consistently clean and comfortable if not luxurious. Plenty of places to grab breakfast & dinner in the area, and both Kings Cross & St Pancras have little M& grocery stores for good food.

Certainly a reasonable choice. Plenty of buses and tubes to wherever you want to go in London. Hotel likely to be fresh and clean and reasonably well sound insulated. If you are coming in summer may be a bit stuffy and humid with closed windows unless it has a/c

It has A/C. The only central London PI that doesn't is County Hall.

Please note that the hotel's address is 88 Euston Road, NW1 2RA. Asking a Londoner for '88 Euston' will mean puzzled looks, as street and road names are never truncated in the UK. It does matter.

It's not open. Originally scheduled to open in late February; the website now says the opening date is 12 May. I tried the on line booking engine for several dates in late May and in June. The earliest date I could make a reservation was for 1 July.
