spending a week @ Crown Moran London starting Dec. 6

1st visit to London-do feel overwhelmed by the vastness of the city-&the vast # of "must sees". Any suggestions for how to get around & definite "must sees"?

Violette,

You really need to invest in a guide book. We could say what we consider must sees but they will be very different from what you might thing. A good guide book will also have transport information and a perusal of the various traveller articles and trip reports to be found on this site will also help. Maybe then come back with specific questions relating to your stay.

One tip: try to group your days around one area to avoid going back and forth across London. Your hotel is a little way north west of the centre. It's a nice hotel but the area isn't terribly exciting and the location will add about half an hour on to your day. The nearest tube stations are Kilburn and Willesden Green which are both on the Jubilee line. There are also a number of buses that pass directly outside the hotel.

Do you have a guide book on London? That would be the best place to start. Our list of 'must sees' will be completely different and may not be to your taste.

For transport, www.tfl.gov.uk will show you all the Underground, bus and train maps for London, along with journey times and a journey planner

That possibly wins the strangest question of the week award :-)

The street on which the hotel is located is basically a shopping street so there must be a reasonable chance of finding somewhere nearby. If nobody responds here then it might be worth starting a new thread with a title that would catch the eye of some a shopping expert in north west London...if such a person exists on here!

There's a Tk Maxx down on Kilburn High Road. It's a thirty minute walk or take a 16 or 32 bus.

Just want to say another "thank you" for all of your help. We had a lovely week in London-only rain we saw was from inside Gatwick terminal while waiting for our return flight. Took the Original Bus Tour, did the tour down the Thames, visited the markets, Harrods, the Queen's grocery store, Windsor Castle, etc. etc---just had a "brilliant" time-would love to go back.
