Taxi all the way.
Train from Waterloo to Feltham (four per hour), then bus 490 (if going to Terminal 4), bus 285 (if going to Terminal 3), or taxi.Edited: 04 December 2013, 10:32
How much is the train fare and taxi fare approx? Any ideas.
I don't know the taxi fares.
Train fare will depend on which day/time you are travelling and whether or not you have an Oyster Card.
Two questions -
1) At what time is your flight? Also which date, in case there are weekend engineering works?
2) Where exactly are you starting your journey? Is it really at Waterloo station, or will you be traveling to Waterloo from somewhere else?
As regards the train/bus via Feltham, the cash single train fare from Waterloo to Feltham is £6.60, and the cash bus fare to Heathrow T3 is £2.40, so total £9. However if you start the train journey after 9.30am on a weekday (all day weekends) you can get an off peak zone 1-6 travelcard for £8.90 that will cover both the train and bus rides, plus any other public transport you may need earlier that day.
But please answer the above questions, as that may change the recommendation.
Train fare is £6.60 and bus £2.40 Anytime fares
Off peak you can get a one day travelcard for £8.90 that will cover the whole journey, Only a 10 p saving but you don't have to bother with coins for the bus.
Pass on taxi - but it will be much cheaper if you prebook it rather than picking one up from the cab rank.
Another point - your post is worded as if you are arriving at Waterloo from somewhere else. If that is so there could be better ways of getting from that somewhere else to HeathrowEdited: 04 December 2013, 10:47
