Anything to do for a few hours close ish to o2 arena -

particularly in bad weather? Have a few hours to fill after a show there at the weekend, The weather does not look good so wondered if anyone had any suggestions of what might be fun to do with children. Thanks very much,

Bad weather may limit the view, but a ride on the "dangle way" (Emirates Air Line) is always a hit with young ones. You can use your Oyster card to pay fares, or ask for a reduction if you have a paper Travelcard.

There's also a bit to do inside the 02 with a wide choice of (chain) restaurants plus the British Music Experience - http://www.britishmusicexperience.com/

If you decide on the cable car ( and it is good fun ) then you could pop into The Crystal next to the cable car terminal on the Royal Docks side. There is a reasonably interesting ( free) exhibition about sustainable cities with lots of interactive stuff for kids. Probably most interesting for 8-13 year olds.

If the weather continues to be awful there's a multi-screen cinema - Cineworld I think - which would keep the children entertained and is dry and warm!

If the show runs till mid to late afternoon, some of the options may not be open anymore, such as the Martime museum.

True. But I was going on the assumption the OP was attending the performance that ends just gone noon this weekend

If not, there are plenty of other suggestions the OP can choose from.
