Where's good for brunch near Russell Square?

We are heading to London in March & staying at The Morton Hotel on Russell Square.

I have been looking for one or two places to get brunch from but I'm struggling a bit on here to pinpoint what I'm looking for.

Location-wise looking for one place near Russell Square but will prob brunch another day whilst doing the tourist stuff so if you know any brunch places elsewhere I'd be interested in hearing about them. If they look like a corker we'll make a detour (I'm more interested in the food in London than the sights!).

When I say brunch I'm thinking a cooked breakfast or pancakes, bacon & maple syrup or eggs Benedict...something to keep us filled up for a day of wandering.

Nowhere too super posh because we will be dressed down.

Can anyone suggest anywhere?

Thanks in advance

Try My Old Dutch in High Hoborn. It's been around for ages, is open at weekends, and has good food. The Fleet River Bakery, tucked behind Holborn Underground station (and not far from the Ship that lordk mentioned) is also worth a go.

I have only been there at lunchtimes but there is a cafe in the park at Russell Square. Not sure if they do what you want so have a look.

Thanks for everyone's help-it's been great.

I forgot to say that we are staying during the week LordKimmage & the place you suggested only does weekend brunch. Good to know for next time though.

I looked that place up Traveller Dutch & it looks great so we'll try it out.

Amers End-nice to know there's something nearby-will explore as soon as we arrive on the Monday.

Richt71 - I've been to Carluccio's once before & it was on the better side of a chain restaurant so Carluccio's could be an option.

Thanks again everyone
