Best London neighborhoods for sightseeing.

I would like to stay in an apt. rental in a neighborhood near Hop on Hop off bus stops and public bus stops. We want to see all the major sights, without taking the tube. It would be great to be able to walk to several of these sights. Is the Trafalger area a safe place to stay for 2 mature women? Medium price neighborhood around $ 350.00 per night. Any help about neighborhoods would be great!

The hop on hop off buses should not be considered for use as transport. Tickets are expensive, the buses are infrequent, and they cover very little of London when compared to the city's red buses (along with the DLR, Overground and National Rail services).

Cape Trafalgar is in Spain. Trafalgar Square (street, road and in this case square names are never truncated in the UK) is central in London, as safe as the rest of the city centre, and has plenty of buses. Please consider your budget in sterling, since hotel prices will be posted and charged in that currency. Use www.xe.com to calculate the rates.

Please let us know when you plan to travel, how many nights you wish to stay, and whether you will travel to and from London by air (and which of the capital's six airports you'll use) or by rail.

Thanks for the information about transportation within the city of London. I will look up the info on the Red Buses. We will be there from September 7- 13 2014. Arriving at LHR (Heathrow). Thanks for your help, anything else you think of that might aid our holiday will be appreciated.

Thanks

London has lots and lots of sites. Major sites you have seen and know about. Major sites you may not be familiar with. Untold numbers of "lesser" sites.

Tell us what kinds of things are you into? Do you like history? If so, what kind? Do you like art? If so, what kind? Do you like to shop? Do you like to eat and drink? Do you like parks? I could go on and on, but I think you understand what we are getting at. London as a lot to offer for just about everyone. You can't possibly do it all in one trip.
