Public bathroom on Oxford Street?

The last thread about this was from 2007, wanted to check for updates.

YES we're a bunch of insane international tourists who are about to hit Primark for 6 hours. I know I know I know, but it's so worth it!

Where can we go to the bathroom BESIDES the KFC? (which the Primark guard told us to use, last year?)

Don't mind paying (although not the posh 5 pound-per-pee place, perhaps).

THANKS!

All the department stores, where they are free, and you don't need to buy anything! But don't ask for "bathrooms" if you want anyone to know what you are talking about. The usual word is "loo" (or the Ladies or Gents).

I'm surprised there aren't any in Primark.

If you are visiting the big Primark near Tottenham Court Road, then don't head to Selfridges, you'll have an accident before you get there, as it's on the opposite end of Oxford Street!

It might be Primark at the other end of oxford street though near Marble Arch in which case Seldriges or M&S would be the closest. Seldridges have very nice clean toilets (gents anyway) on most floors!

Selfridges is definitely the best option if you're at the Marble Arch end of Oxford Street. Alternately, you could stop for a pub lunch and a toilet break.

...Six hours in Primark? Seriously? :-|

KFC has closed, so that rules that one out.

Last time I passed the KFC at Marble Arch it was closed.

If you walk up towards Edgware road there is a macdonalds which can usually be relied on for a loo.

Otherwise marks and Spencer's is probably the easiest. From memory they are in the basement and on the top floor.

There is also a Starbuck's a few blocks away. Downstairs they have toilets. Just walk in, and head down there. No one questions you.

Having tried to buy some cheap, vaguely stylish clothing in Jerusalem some years ago, I actually have some sympathy with the OP's plans - although I generally spend as much time in the queue as actually shopping on my occasional visits to "Primani".
