Almost impossible, especially with luggage. If its one ticket you should be put on the next available flight. If its two tickets, you're screwed.

It can be done if it where the same airport.

But I would have simply taken the tube into London and got a train from Euston. It would have (sorry, IS) a damn site quicker than faffing about going around the M25 in the opposite direction to Glasgow to go through security and hang about waiting for a gate while some young chit of a girl tries to sell you discounted perfume, then to sit in yet another tin can, squashed next to someone with halitosis, to fly to a destination you would have probably already arrived at if you'd gone by train!

06.55 landing (assuming no delay). Taxi to gate, wait, deplane, walk to Border Control, collect luggage.

It's now approx 07.45 (being generous). You now need to leave the airport on your chosen mode of transport and be at Gatwick, ready to check in by 09.10.

From inside Heathrow to inside Gatwick in 1hr 25mins? Unlikely. If not physically impossible (assuming my pretend timings are realistic).

If it's the weekend and you are taking a taxi or private car service then 60min is plenty at the time of the morning door to door. So possible if it's a weekend, your flight arrives on time and there are no delays at immigration and you have your transfers sorted out.

If its on a Sunday, your US incoming flight lands on time (or early), and the M25 Gods are benevolent, then you might just make it

No way I'd chance a connection like that though

Are you on one through ticket? If so, if you miss the LGW to GLA leg because of delays, they might put you on the next available flight at no extra cost

I think the recommended minimum transfer time between LHR and LGW has been moved from 4 to 5 hours

At least you are on one through ticket so hopefully BA will do the honourable thing.

Wednesday at that time the M25 will be a car park so there's very little chance of making the connection

Unfortunately, BA have a bad reputation for offering these tight connections.

Good luck!

I would call BA and see if you can get shifted onto a flight out of LHR
