Train from Luton airport in London to city

We need to get from Luton airport to Victoria station soon. What is the quickest way to get there? I've never used Luton before and it seems train is not as straight forward as Stanstead. I prefer to get tickets online but would welcome advice on what to do. Having checked online it seems buses go to Victoria but not trains. What is the best option? Also we will be in London for 3 days what type of travel cards are most economical? Last time we went up to ticket office in a large station and got ripped off? Is the Oyster card the best value. any advice will be appreciated

Direct coah to Victoria would be best IMO, By rail you need to take a bus to Luton Parkway, train to a mainline station in London (London Blackfriars ) then either bus or tube to Victoria

Depending on the time of day and day of the week you plan to travel, Solas, you may find the rail and Underground journey a bit faster than the coach. The train to Blackfriars and then District or Circle line from there to Victoria will be straightforward, with good signage at recently refurbished Blackfriars station.

If you do choose to travel by rail, buy a ticket from Luton Airport to London to include a one day Travelcard. At a cost of £23 that will include the bus journey from the airport to Luton Airport Parkway station, the trip to Blackfriars, and unlimited use of all modes of transport in London on the day you arrive.

For the other two days you may buy one day off peak zones 1 - 6 Travelcards for £8.90 or use PAYG on Oyster. The off peak cap for use in zones 1 and 2 is £7, so you may prefer to use PAYG if you will stay in zones 1 and 2.

The link to the direct coach from London is nationalexpress.com/wherewego/airports/londo… . The Terravision coach requires a change of vehicle en-route.

Thanks to all who subscribed to my query. I will consider all options but national express bus seems the easiest option to Victoria station.
