That sounds a good option to me but bare in mind there is a short walk between the lifts at Green Park so just bare this in mind. My only other thought was to go to Liverpool Street, if you could manage a couple of sets of stairs, take the circle to Kings Cross and link up with the Piccidally line there. Possibly lees complicated but with lifts at Kings Cross you'd still be on only two sets of stairs, or just get a taxi the rank there is on the same level as the platforms.
This all depends which pitsea it is, is it the one near Basildon, if so it's not much further to get the Liverpool Street line and possibly make your life less complicated.
How about getting the Liverpool Street line and getting off at Stratford. Hop on the Central line to Mile End and get the District Line to Hammersmith. At Hammersmith, get the Piccadilly Line train for Heathrow.
All easy changes, where you just need to cross platforms. I did it last year from the Mile End change-not much hassle at all.
Thanks for the suggestion. It is pitsea near Basildon and c2c is the preferred line. The nearest line for Liverpool Street is GA at Wickford, difficult to get to by public transport.. As long as there are lifts at Green Park we should be ok, a short, flat walk is fine. The other option I thought about was c2c to Barking change for District to Aldgate East then Hammersmith and City to Kings Cross and change for Picadilly, but not sure about lifts from H&C to Picadilly line at Kings Cross and it will prob take longer.
You could also take the c2c train from Pitsea and change to the District Line at Barking (get a Richmond or Ealing Broadway train; if on a Wimbledon train change at Earls Court), then to the Piccadilly Line at Hammersmith. Although it's quite a long journey this way, all these interchanges are cross-platform.
Juka - thanks for that.
Is it easy at hammersmith to change for the Piccadilly? Liverpool Street line wouldn't work for us but can get to Hammersmith
Yes. Just walk across the platform! Much easier than Green Pk
All you do at Hammersmith ( or at Barons Court, the stop before), is wait on the platform for the Heathrow train to arrive- no steps, no lifts...easy peasy!
Hammersmith sounds like the way to go - thank you all.Edited: 02 March 2014, 19:00
I would take C2C to Stratford and central line to Holborn then Piccadilly line.
SimonQ. Your route doesn't work. C2C don't serve Stratford (except during engineering diversions)
