Do 2 for 1 have to be used on same day of travel?

We come in on First Great Western at 3:00ish on a Saturday and want to use the offer for Sunday at ToL. Will that still work?

Only if you are going back to Bath on or after Sunday and have both parts of your return ticket to prove entitlement.

If you are not going back to Bath, you can buy off-peak one-day travelcards for Sunday for £8.90 from any National Rail Station (i.e. any main line terminus in Central London). You could even boy them on arrival at Paddington, so long as you make it clear you want them for Sunday. Please note that one-day travelcards purchased from an Underground ticket office are NOT vaild for the 2FOR1 offers.

No - not unless you have a return or onward ticket valid on the day you use the offer.

Just buy a travelcard for the Sunday. Even if you don't use it (fool not to though) it will save you more than its cost

If you arrive on a Saturday with a single ticket the 2-4-1 offers will only be valid that day, and you will need to retain the single ticket and not allow them to be eaten up in any automatic ticket barriers!

If you have bought a return ticket (or Advance out and back tickets) then you will be able to avail yourself of the 2-4-1 deals on any date between your arrival and departure days, inclusive. You will again need to retain your tickets when arriving.

-------

And what that means is, don't put it in the machines at the barriers , ask a guard to let you through because you wish to retain the tickets.

We are returning from Cornwall. Then fly home to the US a couple days later. Im guessing that would affect the 2 for 1 deal then since we dont have that return on FGW :(

Maybe I wasn't clear enough.

One day travelcards, so long as they are issued at a NATIONAL RAIL ticket office, are also good for the 2FOR1 offers. National Rail ticket offices can be found inside all the main line rail terminals in London.

My suggestion was therefore to buy one-day travelcards for Sunday as you pass through Paddington Station on Saturday, then you will be good to go. Make sure you are clear that you want them for the following day.
