Doing AirBnB for 3 nights in London - Which neighborhood?

My wife and I are traveling to London July 18-21 and are looking for a great neighborhood to stay in. We plan on booking through Air BnB. She has never been to London and I have only been once as a child. So, we want to definitely do some of the "touristy" things like London Eye, Buckingham Palace, London Bridge, etc. However we are also big "foodies", love to drink good beer/wine/cocktails, listen to live music, shop, and do what the locals do. We are 27 years old and like to have a good time, but not looking to go to the disco until 5 a.m. Lookings for charm, good food, good pubs, and ease of access to the city.

We have been looking at Shoreditch, Soho, Notting Hill, Mayfair, Battersea, and Marylebone.

Any help, tips, or advice when be greatly appeciated

Cheers,

"things like London Eye, Buckingham Palace, London Bridge, etc."

I think that you probably mean Tower Bridge:

I'm sure that if your traveling to "broaden your horizons", you're not a redneck.

Hooameye, I am just being kidding around. Of course, I do like to think of myself as a sophisticated redneck. Haha!

Any suggestion on a neighborhood to stay ?

If your budget can stretch to Mayfair then I'd stay there if I were you. It's a very posh area between Hyde Park and central London.

Neilsolaris,

Thanks for the advice! A friend I just spoke with on the phone recommended Notting Hills because the neighborhood quaint feel and all of the restaurants and watering holes that are nearby. Thoughts?

Notting Hill is good advice. It's a bit further out than Mayfair, but only a short tube ride away.

Hampstead could be another option a few tube stops away.

Mayfair is an expensive area, not many people actually live there. Shoreditch or Battersea are slightly further out but quite up and coming with lots of young people and full of locals pubs, bars and restaurants etc.

Mayfair will probably be top five star prices. Notting Hill is a good choice and a very nice neighbourhood. Marylebone is more central and good too. I would start searching for what you want in Notting Hill and see how it goes.
