Oyster card on South West Trains to Hampton Court?

Can someone advise me if I can use my Oyster card on the train to Hampton Court Palace? I'm thinking of making the trip tomorrow but am confused as to whether I can use my Oyster or if I need to buy a separate ticket.

Many thanks!

Yes you can. Be sure to touch out when you get there as there are no barriers and you may forget. The Palace entrance is a short walk over the river bridge which is the right of the station entrance.

What's on your Oyster card??

If it's PAYG money then yes it will take you to Hampton Court and back - if you have enough

If it's a travelcard it depends what zones - you will need 1-6 to cover the complete journey

Yes, it's PAYG funds. Perfect, then! Thank you for the quick replies.

Even if it only had a Travelcard on it you could add PAYG cash and the system would correctly calculate the fare

BUT if you are "we" aren't you interested in 2-4-1?

eja8186,

From Notting Hill Gate gate take a District line train to Wimbledon, and you can pick up the train to Hampton Court from there. The Oyster fare will be £3 each way. The Oyster reader Bungle is referring to is shown on this photo of the platform entrance at Hampton Court station; no barriers, remember to touch out on arrival and in for your return. - nationalrail.co.uk/SME/…o2090-0014469.jpg
