Travel from London St-Pancras to St. James station

We will be ariiving on the Eurostar from Paris (London St-Pancras) and need to get to the St. James station (our hotel is the St. Ermin's, which I think is close to this station). Is it easy enough with luggage (2 large suitcases) to take a rail from one station to the other or should we be looking for a taxi?

With two big suitcases I would be tempted to get a taxi from the taxi rank at the station. It's a 15 minute ride so maybe about £15 fare.

And ask for St James PARK station. Americans have this tendency to truncate place names, which can lead to big trouble - asking for Oxford instead of Oxford Street could take you on a trip to Oxford, 60 miles away, Liverpool instead of Liverpool Street Station - even further, Buckingham instead of Buckingham Palace - ditto

The distance is about 3 miles, so walking would definitely not be an option. You could instead book a taxi online to take you from St. Pancras or you could take one straight from outside the station. Or another option for you would be to take the tube.

Thank you all for the quick response and advice. I think the taxi will be worth the convenience.
