Help me choose a restaurant please

ANY suggestions most welcome

I am meeting an old friend from Australia who I haven't seen for over 15 years and want to take her and her hubbie for a memorable lunch. As I don't live in London I have no idea where to book. So please give me your suggestions !!

Not too expensive (£25/30 a head +/-)

Quirky is good !

Perhaps a table with a view ?

Central London on a Bank Holiday Saturday !!

Many thanks

Restaurant at the Tate Modern? Set lunch about £28. Good view as high up, but book!

The restaurant you mention hasn't been opened very long so I doubt that many posters here will have tried it. Have you read the reviews? It wouldn't be my choice if I were meeting old friends for a 'catch up' after many years and there doesn't appear to be a view.

But, if that style is what you are looking for then it may be just the thing.

For a really striking venue look at either the restaurant at the National Portrait Glalery, amazing view over Trafalgar Square, or one of the bars at the equally amazing Renaissance St Pancras, incredible Victoriana restored without regard to expense. The food is not necessarily the selling point at either.
