Pub suggestions

Hello all. My family will be staying near St. Pancras station during the first week of August. I am not only looking for suggestions for authentic British pubs specific to that area, but also throughout the city. We are not specifically looking for the most famous or highest rated, but rather the place you didn't want to leave. Thank you.

Scott - this question comes up on an almost weekly basis, so best to search using the term"old pubs" or "unspoilt pubs". Here's an example : tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTopic-g186338-i17-k543…

Did not want to leave Fox & Hounds Belgravia - very cosy and intimate pub.

I LOVE The two Chairmen Near Queen Annes Gate

St. James Tavern, close to the Picadilly tube station

The Red Lion, close to Westminster tube station

All of them were very friendly with good product.

Of course I went to many more but those three stand out.

Some of my favorites are The Blackfriar (especially if you can get one of the two cozy little corner booths next to the fireplace), Dirty Dick's (both are in the City) and The Queen's Larder in Bloomsbury (it's like stepping back in time).

These are good sites for pub research:
