Best district to stay in London for walking everywhere

We will be staying London next year for 2 weeks. We were wondering what would be the best district to stay in since we are avid walkers. We don't really take taxis or trains to get around. We prefer to walk everywhere and see the sites along the way. When we stayed in Paris for 2 weeks we averaged 20 miles a day walking and sightseeing so we aren't afraid of distance. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

it's a good location but again I'd encourage you not to rule out transport first and walk later. London is a lovely city but you could, for example, take the tube to Richmond and walk in Richmond park to Hampton Court and on through Bushey Park and Teddington before returning to Waterloo.
