International Connection in LHR

Hi Everyone - I have an older couple coming in from Mumbai, India on Virgin Atlantic into Terminal 3, and then proceeding to Atlanta, GA on Delta from Terminal 4. Does anyone know

- how do they get from Term 3 to 4?

- how long does it take to get to 4?

- do they have to go through sercurity as well as customs again? (they wont be picking up any bags; will be carrying only their carryons; I also checked they dont need transit visas)

- is there a wheel chair service that they can use? will it take them from 3 to 4? should I request this service via Delta or Virgin?

Thanks in advance for your time

I checked the aiport website and I got this heathrowairport.com/heathrow-airport-guide/f…

That is the procedure, just follow the signs for Flight Connections and Heathrow Airport's staff will direct them. If they don't already have boarding cards for the Delta flight they should obtain these at the Airline desk in Terminal 4.

Yes you should book assistance at Heathrow if it is required, you can probably do this most easily through Virgin.

I would request the assistance from Virgin. They would then meet your couple and escort them to T4. Virgin and Delta are joint venture partners and will coordinate the assistance behind the scenes.

You will just need to need make it clear to them that this is an airside transfer so they MUSN''T go through immigration. The instructions on the airport website that you have found are spot on as is wirewiper's advice.

thank you for your prompt response.

Challenge is that Virgin is telling me that Delta should provide them wheelchair service (which is confusing since they arrive on Virgin). I dont want them waiting on the plane for wheelchairs and nobody shows up - has happened in the past.

to go from 3 to 4 is a bus service, right? not a train? Also, no customs and immigration, correct?

From the link you posted - "A dedicated bus will transfer you between terminals. Buses are free and depart every six to ten minutes."

And yes, no customs or immigration, just the security checks as outlined in the link.

Post 6, the Piccadilly Line isn't much good as it is land side and would necessitate going through security and passport control.

OP - please disregard post 6
