Oyster card

Hi guys,

Has anyone heard of the Oyster Card. Its a travel card valid on trains and bus within London. We were wondering if its a good idea to buy it and save, or is it better and cheaper to buy individual tickets?

Don't pre order any oyster cards or travelcards for London, it is best to buy them here when you arrive. You say 'we' how many are you and what airport, dates/times and hotel are you arriving at? It could make a difference if you wish to use the 2-4-1 offers - see above right.

But we are mostly gonna sight see and stay in London, so we are looking for a cheap travel option

If you look at the top of this page under "top questions about london" you will see one question specifically on Oystercards - and another on 2-4-1 offers
