Harwich, UK transportation from cruise port to Hilton Londao

Looking for help to find the most reliable and cost effective transportation from Harwich Cruise Port to Hilton London Metropole Hotel. We are taking a cruise, then starting a Globus tour, so need to get to the London Hotel on Aug 7, 2014, from Harwich. Do not want to drag luggage on a train. or transfer to a cab from an airport transfer. Open to ideas of a tour on the way from Harwich to London :) Any Suggestions ! Thanks

The most reliable and cost effective way is to take a train to London, then taxi from your hotel.

The other options available to you (which are extremely limited & expensive) are to be found on the Harwich forum.

<< Open to ideas of a tour on the way from Harwich to London >> are you thinking you can somehow get a tour fromHarwich to London and then opt out of the return. Doubt if any such tours exist

<<< Do not want to drag luggage on a train. or transfer to a cab from an airport transfer >>.

Assuming you have a normal size case with wheels, rather than a wardrobe on steroids, there shouldn't be any problem getting on the train and then a taxi to your hotel. - easily the most cost effective and reliable way

Where does 'cab from an airport transfer ' come into this.journey from Harwich?

Given the constraints you have put on yourself, a taxi/car service is the only possible solution. It will be cheaper if prebooked

Getting from Harwich to London by train is easy (doing it the other way round isn't). If you have to change trains at Manningtree it'll be on the same platform.

I would take the train to London Liverpool Street and a taxi from there.

If you really really don't want to go by train try this local(ish) company - we found them both affordable and reliable:

One other option that will allow you to either see or actually visit the Tower of London - internationalfriends.co.uk/harwich-to-london…

If you wanted to see some of he countryside between Harwich and the city then you would need a private driver/guide. These people are excellent but will cost. Start here - http://www.driver-guides.org.uk/
