Is it ok to go to the theatre in jeans and trainers spoke to someone who said lots of folk don't dress up to go

Have a shower, wear clean clothes, don't cover yourself in pepper spray and leave the shopping at your accommodation.

going to go back to hotel and shower and change dont really want to carry shoes as only staying one night and will be carrying bag around on sunday just asking will it be ok to wear trainers to theatre

We are tourists! People understand that. I saw some English folks before the show on Broadway and they were dressed like the rest multinational crowds over there.
