Piccadilly line direct, no changes. Takes about an hour. Leave plenty of time though for Passport Control and any delays/changes to flight arrival and preferably a flexible railt ticket such as an offpeak fare.
Thank you for your note. Do we catch the Piccadilly Line in Terminal 2? I haven't been able to find any information about Terminal 2 which recently opened and may only have United Flights using it at this point. Can we access the tube directly from terminal 2 or would we need to transfer to one of the other terminals. Your guidance is very much appreciated. Thanks.
Terminals 1 2 and 3 share an easily reached tube station
Follow signs for the 'Underground'.
It would be pretty silly if they had built a whole new terminal and forgotten to put in access to the Underground ...
I posted the question because the www.tfl.gov.uk website "plan a journey" gave the following directions to get to Kings Cross from Terminal 2: Take the Heathrow Express to London Paddington Rail Station, Walk to Paddington (H&C Line), and then take the tube Hammersmith & City line or Circle line to King's Cross St.Pancras Underground Station. I figured there had to be a more direct way to get from Terminal 2 to Kings Cross. Hence, the posted question. I appreciate the advice provided above. Thanks much.
Yes, the TFL website is utterly useless for trips out of Heathrow into London as it practically always suggests starting with the hugely expensive HEX train.
